ANNOYANCE LIMIT LOL if S.O.S. is annoying, and if you want to put your limit to the test, check this out - it's Kelis. After her "Milkshake" hit, she's releasing something less dramatic but even more annoying! Is that possible, you ask? Well, see for yourself.
Warning: seriously, this tune might stick in your head for quite a while. Plus, I just realize (yes after my 2nd watch) it involves a lot of touching, a lot of skin, and even spitting (!) in the video. So it should be categorized as soft core porn, if we decide to keep something called 'standard' or 'moral' or 'decency' whatever you call that for our society, for today's young children, for the future of our world etc etc. All I'm sayin is it's definitely not safe for workspace/home-with-mom-around etc etc. You know I'm not asking you to cover your eyes don't ya?
And it's my plan to put the worst and the best together in the same post, in order to create something called 'contrast'. And it only makes sense if I present to you the worst first, followed by the best. (Although to some people my order should be in reciprocal, but then if so you don't really belong to this blog fella). Not only that, this time when I say best I really mean the best, the bestest and nothing but the best. Check out this new British singer called Lily Allen.
Introducing - Lily Allen.
What's so special about her you ask? Well, first of all I found out about her on Mr PJ's website. (I'm becoming Mr PJ's PR guy you might think... well then you're wrong, I just decided that Pet Shop Boys' new release 'I'm With Stupid' is horrible, which means no I don't always have to agree with Mr PJ). Back to my point. Mr. PJ is really right on this one. Let's take a look at what he says about this new act Lily (just highlighting some points):
- Her MySpace profile demands "if you are a goth, don't add me please." - 'Smile' features the lyric "when you first left me I was wanting more / But you were fucking that girl next door". Faced with this sort of business it's now very easy to see precisely why some felt a little 'short-changed' by the pop persona known as Rachel Stevens.
That says a lot about this lovely young lady already. If you don't want to believe your eyes (doesn't she look really pretty in a non-manufactured way?), believe your ears then. From what I hear ALL her songs on her myspace are amazing. They're light, happy, fun, musical; she has a really sweet voice, but then she goes on and rap a bit; there's a bit of jazz quality, but you might hear a little bit of Limp Bizkit (rollin' rollin' rollin') for a second there, and a bit of raggaeton on the next; the lyrics as they say is a stroke of genius - "You know you cannot have my number, cuz I lost my phone" taken from my favorite 'Knock Em Out', although I do find the AIDS joke in the end a bit distasteful.
She's got herself a proper record deal, and we should expect to see her releasing some good stuff real soon, I hope.
Nice, so it's time for today's bestest best here. You'll love her 4 songs. You might think "God is this some kind of joke or what" but I gaurantee you'll love her by the end of the first chorus. Lovely.
